Smart cards are programmable with built-in sensors and embedded integrated circuits and microprocessor. These cards can also be imprinted with customized logos and graphics. These resembles a credit card / debit cards in size and shape, but is completely different. Inside we see, a normal credit card is a simple piece of plastic .Inside of a smart card usually contains an embedded microprocessor, which is under a gold contact pad on one side of the card. Think of microprocessor as replacing the usual magnetic stripe on a credit card / debit card.
Smart Card Chips contain both memory and a microprocessor , again similar to a small floppy disk, except they contain an "intelligent" controller that is used to securely add, delete, change, and update information contained in the chip's memory. The more sophisticated microprocessor chips have state-of-the-art security features built in to protect the contents of memory from unauthorized access.
